Technical Advice

When measuring up the area to be heated, make an allowance for areas that don't require heating eg. underneath kitchen units and baths. Typically, allow a depth of .6m for kitchen units, 1.5m² for baths, 1m² for showers and .25m² for toilets but it's important that you measure these areas yourself. To illustrate this, 8m² of bathroom with bath, shower and toilet require a total area of 5.25m² to be heated.

When installing an add-on kit with an existing radiator system, the flow and return should be taken from as close to the boiler as possible and in any case after the system pump.

Regulating Valves

Concrete and screeded floors require 50 degree regulating valves to enable drying out of the concrete.  A temperature that's higher than 50 degrees could crack the concrete.

For joisted floors, we can supply a 70 degree regulating valve as joisted floors require a higher operating temperature.

Please ensure you order the correct regulating valve with your Add-On Kit or speak with a technician.
